Malta International Airport (MLA), at Luqa near Valletta, is the archipelago's only air gateway. A single terminal therefore absorbs all of the traffic — and Malta is a strongly seasonal destination, with departures concentrated between April and October. How much time you save
It all comes down to season and hour. In winter, security at Malta moves quickly. In peak season, mornings and late-afternoon slots see several charter and low-cost flights leave together, in a single terminal: the standard queue then stretches out noticeably. The priority lane typically brings the crossing back to a few minutes, and the gap is widest on the busiest days.

Tips for MLA
- Plan around the season: from June to September, arrive early even with Fast Track — the forecourt and check-in fill up before security does.
- One terminal only: no inter-building connection to manage, but also no way to shift the queue to another checkpoint.

- Fast Track does not exempt you from security rules: liquids and electronics are presented as in the standard queue.
