Tirana Mother Teresa International Airport (TIA) is Albania's only commercial airport, at Rinas north-west of the capital. That shapes everything: the country's entire traffic — fast-growing tourism, diaspora, business — passes through a single terminal. Fast Track takes you through the security checkpoint in minutes, with the same regulatory screening as the standard queue.
How Fast Track works at Tirana
Fast Track at Tirana is access to a dedicated security lane, separate from the general queue. The check is identical — bag scanner, walk-through detector: only the waiting time changes. You book online, pick your date, and receive a QR voucher by email to show at the entrance to the priority lane.
At Tirana, access starts at €9.99 per person. The exact price and availability appear live for your slot when you book.
The AirLounge
Tirana has a lounge you can book without a loyalty card or a business-class ticket: the AirLounge, in the main terminal, from €25 per person. A non-smoking, air-conditioned space with flight information displays and telephones.
At a single-terminal airport the value is direct: once through security, the public areas are shared by every waiting flight. The lounge is where a long wait becomes comfortable — and it pairs naturally with Fast Track.
Meet & greet
An assistance package is offered in the main terminal, from €180 per person: name-sign welcome, escorted passport control and a shared transfer from the aircraft. It answers a different need from Fast Track — end-to-end handling — rather than the queue at security alone.
How much time you save
Tirana's traffic has grown sharply in recent years, without the number of screening lanes keeping the same pace. The result shows during departure waves: several flights arrive at the same checkpoint minutes apart and the standard queue stretches out noticeably, particularly in summer and during diaspora return periods. The priority lane then brings the crossing back to a few minutes.
Paying less with SkyEntry Pass
The SkyEntry Pass subscription gives 20% off every airport service — Fast Track, lounge, meet & greet — and includes a free 1 GB eSIM every month, useful in Albania, which sits outside the EU roaming zone on many plans. The trial is €1 for 48 hours, then €29.90/month or €249/year, no commitment, cancel any time.
One return trip for two with lounge access already covers a month's subscription. Details on the pricing and subscription page.
Tips for TIA
- Plan around seasonal peaks: summer and diaspora return periods concentrate departures.
- One terminal only: no inter-building connection to manage, but also no way to shift to another checkpoint.
- Keep your QR voucher available offline (screenshot).
- Fast Track does not exempt you from security rules: liquids and electronics are presented as in the standard queue.
